Work Employment Services
Southeast Work's main facility (181 Lincoln St) is a sheltered workshop and training facility that helps individuals build working, social, and personal skills. We offer work in many different skill levels to fit the individual, and we are constantly evolving to fit the needs and wants of our participants.
Pre-vocational Training
Offers vocational training and work opportunities. Individuals receive soft-skill training in areas such as work ethics, counting, stamina, work habits/attitude and attention to task. Individuals work on sub-contract job assignments for local businesses that include general assembly, packaging and mailings.
Supported Employment
The Supported Employment Program serves adults with developmental disabilities by matching their skills with the needs of employers in the community. The program consists of three services: Mobile Crews, Enclaves, and Individual Placements. Placements are made by matching skills, abilities and desires of both participants.
Mobile Crew
Southeast operates a low cost janitorial service to meet the cleaning needs of area businesses. We presently clean all NYS toll booths from Grand Island to Blasdell. We also clean municipal buildings for several townships and churches on a weekly basis. Transportation is provided. Requirements include having appropriate social skills, self-direction, and motivation.
Enclaves
Southeast offers the option of being hired in small groups for manufacturing and or business needs. Supervision is provided by our Job Coach staff to assure quality and quantity standards are met. This option offers community integration.
Individual Placements

Intensive support is provided on-site by a Job Coach to assure job demands are met. The support is on-going for the duration of employment. Placements are made at fast-food and fine-dining establishments, day care centers, churches, municipal buildings, and factories. Participants have held positions as dishwashers, teachers aides, janitors, maids, and file clerks.
Benefits of Supported Employment
- Participants have the opportunity to do valued work for equitable pay and benefits.
- The program allows participants to have work choice and utilize their full potential in a community-integrated environment.
